Restore Point Reyes National Seashore
Logo Design, Social Media, Web Development
This project started as a campaign with Nakawe Project to help the Tule Elk within the Point Reyes National Seashore from the dairy farm encroaching more into their land. This species of elk was once thought to be extinct, until a heard was discovered in the early 1900s.
The existing dairy farms within the park are looking to expand their lands, and built more fences whish will affect the already dwindling herd numbers, along with the other fox, coyote, and bobcat populations. The group Restore Point Reyes National Seashore has been fighting this expansion and working to ensure the protection of all the wildlife within the park.
For the project I worked to create a new logo and branding identity for the the group, social media graphics and a landing page with information about the fight for the elk. This page included the film “The Killing of a Native Species” by Emmy winning Nakawe member and National Geographic Explorer, Filip DeAndrade.
After the campaign through Nakawe Project ended, I was asked to update their existing website to the new look and feel.
While working on this project, I was invited to visit and photography the Tule elk in the park in 2020. I have fallen in love with this park and protecting the animals that live within it. I have a trip planned to go back down for more photography in March 2022, and cannot wait to get back down there!
